Private Teacher Requirement
Why Private Lessons?
Private lessons are crucial to achieve a high level of musical playing. An experienced teacher working one-on-one with a student is able to assess the student’s progression and recommend the necessary steps to take in order for the student to improve.
As BFHS is a college preparatory school, Chamber Orchestra is viewed as a college preparatory course. Lessons are a necessity to be prepared for college entry auditions, courses, and college orchestras.Lessons can sometimes be a sacrifice financially. I do not believe in spending more than one makes. I also absolutely know that private lessons can do more for a student’s playing than any other activity or exercise.
This is true because the teacher can assess the student’s playing and remedy issues in the moment. The feedback is instantaneous. However, as a last resort should lessons exceed the budget, a substitute would be online private study.
